The track is part of the album Attention Attention , released in May 2018.

Last week Shinedown released a moving piano version of "Get Up." Now, the track from the album Attention Attention has a music video.

In it, the band appears near the piano and in the studio while reflecting on the song. “Get Up” was inspired by bassist Eric Bass and is about supporting friends and colleagues who are going through a difficult time. Furthermore, both the track and the album were the result of a complicated phase in Smith's life, marking the vocalist's first sober work with the band.

“We don’t want people to feel ashamed for going through a difficult time,” the singer said, “You won’t be defined by your failures, but by the fact that you didn’t give up.”
